Lagrande Z Christiansen

LaGrande Z. Christiansen passed away January 6th, 2017, at his home in Hyrum with his family by his side.
He was born January 31, 1933. In Hyrum, Utah, the son of Aaron Christiansen and Rosa Maria Teresa Zilles.
He married Mamie Hatch in Salt Lake City Temple September 21, 1956.
LaGrande served in the US Military from December 1953 to September 1955. After his discharge, he attended Utah State University and graduated with degrees in Economics and Education. Later he completed further education from the University of Reno Judicial College.
He taught High school and Elementary school for 35 years. LaGrande also served as Justice Court Judge for Hyrum for 33 years. He was an active member of the LDS church.
LaGrande was immensely proud of his family and was our protector and hero. He loved to spend time in Panguitch Utah with Mamie’s family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marzell C. Downs, Cloteel Larsen, Rose MaRee Pilkington, and Brother Gordan Chirstiansen.
He is survived by his wife, Mamie Christiansen, children David L. Christiansen, and Holly C. Dempsey, daughter-in-law Kara, son-in-law Michael, sister Joan Datwyler and brother, Dale Christiansen, grandsons; Kolby, Kade, Karter, Benjamin, and Daniel, and granddaughters; Lauren, and Kenedi, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Hyrum 13th Ward Chapel , 95 North 675 West on Tuesday, January 10th at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel. Burial will be at the Hyrum City Cemetery. Funeral directors are Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.allenmortuaries.net
