Latricia Muir Bybee

November 26, 1956 — August 24, 2021

Latricia was born to her first set of parents (Arzann and Kenneth Pierson) on November 26, 1956. At an early age, she was adopted by Leland and Donna Muir, causing her to leave Hermiston, Oregon, and move to Twin Falls, Idaho. She was joined by two brothers (Grant and “J”) and later a sister (Donalu). The family moved a few times and settled in various places in Idaho. Latricia graduated from junior high in Paris, Idaho, then high school in Montpelier, Idaho. It was here that Leland and Donna bought and operated the Swiss Motel. Years later, they moved to Fairview, Idaho, just south of Preston, Idaho.

After Latricia graduated from high school in 1975, she went to Rick’s College (now called BYU Idaho). She was interested in becoming a PE (physical education) teacher. It was here that she first met the love of her life, Todd Bybee. They were in the same home evening group. After two semesters, Todd left for an LDS mission to Oakland, California for two years. After his return, Latricia served a mission in the Philippines. On August 4, 1990, they were married in the Logan Utah Temple. They lived in Malad, Idaho, until the spring when they moved to Logan, Utah. She worked at the Weathershield Windows & Doors. After a few months in Logan, she required several surgeries and was unable to work so she was content to be a housewife. She was a great cook and had many friends over for Sunday dinner.

Prior to marrying Todd, she worked as a CNA in Twin Falls. She got pregnant and then moved back to Fairview with her parents in one of their apartments. Her baby Albert was born on November 6, 1988. He died three days later on November 9, 1988. He was buried in the Chesterfield Cemetery. The death of her baby affected Latricia very much. She never had any children after the death of Albert. It was comforting to her that Todd wished to be sealed to her and Albert.

Latricia and Todd were separated in 2008 and eventually divorced on their anniversary on August 4, 2009. After the divorce, she lived in Twin Falls, then back to Logan where she resided until her death. She died a week or so before anyone found her. She was buried in the Chesterfield Cemetery, next to her baby.

Latricia was preceded in death by both sets of parents, her father-in-law Andrew Bybee (he died approximately the same time as Latricia), a niece Jilynn Muir, brothers-in-law Kevin Daniels and Greg Bybee and his son Nathan, and her son Albert Jon. She is survived by her siblings Leland “J” Muir, Jr (Carolyn), Grant Muir, and Donalu Muir; her uncle Elmo Muir and her aunt Carol Ashworth; numerous biological siblings, as well as the following close members of the Bybee family: mother-in-law Patsy and her children, Todd, Tracy Norr (Brad), Chad (DaNeil), Greg’s wife Roslynn Auger, Pamela Gunnell (Nolan), Monica Palmer (Scott), Corey (Ruth), and Alexis Bybee Daniels; and many nieces and nephews.
