Laurie Young Romriell was born October 30, 1958. On December 27, 2018, after many years of illness, she passed away unexpectedly due to complications from a Pulmonary Embolism. She was valiant to the end.
Laurie was a loving daughter, wife, mother and friend. Although in the last years of her life she rarely felt well, she always had a strong desire was to help those around her feel loved and appreciated. She had a very giving heart. She went out of her way to do things for people she thought needed a little boost.
She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to the Navajo Indian people on the reservation in Arizona. She graduated from the University of Utah. She worked at Zion’s bank and the University of Utah. She was always well liked, and her employers appreciated her work.
She loved playing music on the clarinet and piano. She spent hours practicing and teaching. She especially loved Christmas music. It was not surprising for her to start playing Christmas music in July.
She was married in the Logan, Utah temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her husband and son dearly. She spent hours organizing family reunions and worked hard to stay connected with all her extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Alva Allen Young, Jr. She is survived by her devoted and attentive husband, Michael Duane Romriell, beloved son, Alec James Romriell, mother, Lorraine Thornton Young, her, Sister, Elva Young (Stuart) Maughan, Brothers Steven Allen (Gina Stubbs Wardell, Jeni Holton-deceased) Young, and Thomas Leroy (Kim Yergensen) Young, Young and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who loved and appreciated her.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 5 in the Cornish LDS church - located at 11400 North 4800 West, Trenton, Utah. Interment services will be on Monday, January 7th at the Lehi City Cemetery – located at 1525 North 600 East, Lehi, UT.
Viewings will be held on Friday, January 4th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 5 at 10:00 – 11:30 am at the Cornish LDS church. Also, on Monday, January 7 at 10:00 am - before the interment - a short viewing will be held at in the Highland LDS church, 10417 North 6750 West, Highland, Utah
