LaVell H Carlsen, 90, passed away on April 30, 2017 at his home in Hyrum, Utah. He was born in Hyrum on February 17, 1927 to Charles O. and Erma Carlsen. He married Joy Stromberg on May 1, 1952 in the Logan Temple. She was the love of his life. He was a World War II veteran. He loved camping, hiking, and fishing with his family. He was an avid gardener. He was deeply loved by all of his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Carlsen, five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, sons Michael (Carma) Carlsen, Wayne (Janice) Carlsen, daughters Sherry (Lee) Phipps, Julie (KC) Thomson, sisters Millicent Parkinson, Sherlaine Pritchett, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A viewing will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the LDS Church located at 125 N 400 W, Hyrum from 10 to 11:30. The funeral will follow at noon with Bishop Brower presiding.
