LaVerne Olsen Selley, died March 18, 2008
She was born December 27, 1916 in Hyrum, Utah. She is the daughter of Vernon C and Ella Nielsen Olsen.
She married Leland Selley, June 24, 1936 in the Logan Temple.
She graduated from South Cache High School and attended Utah State University. She was a licensed cosmetologist and worked in Logan for many years. She then went to work for L’Oreal Lancôme of New York and Paris. She was district representative and traveled the eleven western states and Hawaii and took many trips for L’Oreal to New York and Paris.
After retiring, she and Lee spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona and traveled extensively. She and Lee especially liked the Spice Islands, Japan and China. They made one very special trip to Paris and London on the Concord and a wonderful trip on the QE2 in the Mediterranean. She loved oil painting, golf and particularly fishing with her special fishing buddy Hope Larsen. She did a lot of handwork and gave her paintings and afghans to all her family and friends.
She was a second Mother and Grandmother to many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She had great neighbors who took care of her and she loved them all very much.
Survived by her sister, Guila Epley, Logan, Utah and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Hyrum Cemetery. A closed casket visitation will be at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
