Lavern Joseph Ricks

Logan, Utah: LaVern Joseph Ricks passed away in his sleep at home on November 23, 2007. He was 79 years old. The youngest of the nine children of Wallace and Annie Ricks, he was born in Logan, Utah on April 1, 1928 and raised in Benson Ward. On August 10, 1950 he married Clarice Martin Ricks. He was a hard working, independent, and self-made businessman until his (semi-) retirement, working first as a master electrician then as the owner of Ricks Tree and Backhoe service.

He is survived by his wife, Clarice, and three children, Lamar M. Ricks (Trudy), of Millville, Genene R. Fuhriman (Neil) of Logan and Keith L. Ricks (Heidi) of Logan, as well as 12 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren, and his
sisters; Jessie Gustaveson and Betty Goodsell, both of Logan, and his brother; George Duane Ricks of Ogden.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 27, 2007 in the Logan City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net .
