Lawrence James Comer, 74, of Logan passed away unexpectedly at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden on Monday July 2, 2012. He would have turned 75 one week later.
Larry was born July 9, 1938 in Logan, Utah to Mary Shelley and James Harold Comer. He attended Logan City Schools, graduating from Logan High in 1956. As a young man he excelled at golf and enjoyed participating in the Comer Jewel Box Youth tournaments that his parents sponsored at the Logan Golf and Country Club.
On October 22, 1959 he married Rosalee Pilkington in Elko, Nevada. Together they had two sons and were later divorced.
Larry worked at Schreiber Cheese and retired from there after many years.
Larry is survived by his sons; Bruce James (Kae Lin Eliason) Comer, Shane D. (Bobbi Jo LaMont) Comer. 4 grandchildren, Jeremy James Comer, Cameron Michael Comer, Drake Comer all of Logan. Dani Lin Wigfield (Brian) and a great-grandson; Donovan Dan Comer of Idaho Falls, Idaho a brother Jerry Comer (Nancy) and an aunt Nola C. Williams of Bountiful. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Derrian Comer.
At Larry’s request there will be a grave side service held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Logan City Cemetery under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
