Lawrence Earl South
Lawrence Earl South, 71, returned to his Heavenly Father peacefully while surrounded by his wife and all of his children on January 1, 2007. He was born on November 27, 1935 in Woodruff, Utah to Edward Cannon South and Mildred Cox South. He graduated from South Cache High School in 1955 and served an LDS mission in Australia for one year, returned and completed his mission in the states for an additional year. He fell in love and while working in Idaho, met his beautiful friend and eternal companion. He was married to DeEsta Jane Johnson South on December 4, 1959. He had various lines of work, but we recognize him for the dedicated work he and DeEsta did for our community and our church as a custodian and friend. Lawrence touched everyones life with his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make us smile and laugh. Throughout his life he enjoyed and loved the outdoors, Lawrences true joy in life was his family. He loved and addored his 13 grandchildren and 1 great grand child. He lived for their smiling faces and sends his undying love to Chelsea, Trevor, Katelyn, Nancy, Katrina, Dylan, Colby, Cannon, Dallas, Tara, DeEsta, Sadi, Lucy,and Isaiah. He is survived by, his loving wife DeEsta and his six children, Steve, David, Jeff, Jason, Karen, Connie, and his sister and brother, Marilyn & Paul. He was preceeded in death by, his parents Ed and Mildred South and his two sisters, Carol and Barbara. Dad, you are the wind beneath our wings, we love you.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 5 at the River Heights Stake Center 800 South 600 East, River Heights. A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, January 4 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St, Logan and from 10:30-11:30 am at the church prior to the funeral.
