Lee Johnson

Lee William Johnson passed away on Fri. March 23rd, 2012 in Logan Utah. He was born on July 7th, 1923 in Benson, Utah to William Derby Johnson and Ida Maria Hatch. He grew up in Benson, Utah until 2006 when he moved to Logan. He was a dairy farmer working with his dad, W.D. Johnson, and brother, Norval Johnson. He married Flora Leonhardt on Nov. 15th, 1945 in the Logan Temple. She passed away Oct. 6th, 1991. He married Peggy Smith on July 31, 1992 in the Logan Temple.

Lee loved Scouting and was involved in it all of his life. In 2011 he received a 65 year Scouting pin. He helped with the Scout-O-Rama for many years, and helped build the lodge at Camp Hunt in Bear Lake making over 100 trips. He received the Silver Beaver award Feb. 12th, 1996. He was an active member of the LDS Church and a High Priest and loved to serve in the Logan Temple. He served an LDS Service Mission at the Deseret Industries. Lee loved to work with his hands and did beautiful woodwork which was often used to help others. Lee was proud of his family and loved being with them.

Lee is survived by his wife Peggy, his daughter Marilee [David] Hacking [Brigham City], his sons Timothy [Tami] Johnson, Kimber [Sherilyn] Johnson of Benson, Kevin [Tammy] Johnson of Logan. Also step daughters Terri Jacobs of Tooele, Colleen [Rob] Nolen of Farmington. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Rhoda Johnson (Alabama), Itha Stentzel of Yuba City, CA, Norval [Faye] Johnson of Benson, Dessa [Lyle] Beck and Printha [Doug] Sorenson of North Logan, 19 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents William Derby and Ida Maria Johnson, his wife Flora, his Brother Byron Johnson and his brother-in-law Gus Stentzel.

Funeral services will be held on Wed., March 28th, at noon at Allen Hall Mortuary 34 East Center Street, Logan Utah. A viewing will be held Tues., March 27th, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Allen Hall Mortuary and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. the day of the funeral.
