Lennis Paul Christiansen

May 21, 1939 — October 29, 2008

HYRUM, UTAH: Lennis Paul Christiansen, 69, passed peacefully from this earthly home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lymphoma cancer and congestive heart failure on October 29, 2008 in Logan.

He was born on May 21, 1939 in Logan, Utah to Carl Edwin and Elda Hill Christiansen. His early years were spent on the family farm until they moved into Hyrum where he attended Lincoln School.

Many happy times were spent in the bottoms of Hyrum Dam where his antics were reminiscent of Huckleberry Finn. After graduating from South Cache High School he ran several farms in Pocatello Valley and hired on at Thiokol where he worked for 12 years.

Linda Lee Albretsen became his eternal sweetheart as they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on August 5, 1960 and they began a loving journey of 48 years together, raising a family of four wonderful children.

Lennis began working for Hyrum City as an electrician and became the Electrical Supervisor and the Public Works Director. He retired after 32 years, having assisted with many improvements to the community. He developed great friendships with those he worked with over the years.

In 2004 he was the Grand Marshall of the Hyrum City 4th of July Parade. He enjoyed attending the temple and willingly and humbly served in both the Elders and High Priest Quorums and in the Bishopric of the Hyurm 1st Ward.

Together they purchased the family farm, built a home on it so he could continue to do what he enjoyed most, farming. He had great respect for the land and that was evident in his crops. He was proud of the good work ethics his children developed on the farm.

A great story teller, peacemaker, a man of honor, honestly and integrity, a loving husband, father and grandpa. He will be missed deeply.

He is survived by Lynda, four wonderful children and spouses who loved him very much and will miss him. Robert and Corrie Christiansen, and grandchildren, Jessica, Jared, Emily and Tiffany of West Jordan, Utah; Jeff and Suzann Christiansen and grandchildren, Cortney, Cass, DJ and Baily of Hyrum; Angie and Rob Lee and granddaughter, Mackenzie, Paradise; Shari and Brett Hancey and grandchildren, Kyrin and Kyler, River Heights, a brother, Kent and Kathy Christiansen, a sister LaDawn Olson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, a sister, niece, aunts and uncles, father-in-law and sister-in-law.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 pm in the Hyrum North Stake Center, 245 North 750 East. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 5-7 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and at the church from 11:30 - 12:30 on Monday. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
