Leola Tripp Anderson

RICHMOND, UTAH - Leola Tripp Anderson passed away peacefully Saturday, June 4,2005, at her son's home in Richmond, Utah. She was 97, three weeks shy of her 98th birthday.

Leola was born June 30, 1907 in Richmond, daughter of Enoch Robert and Lorena Feltman Tripp. She married Ernest Lyman Tripp on July 10, 1927. Leola lived in Richmond all her life with the exception of 12 years when she and Ern and their 3 children resided in Arimo, Idaho. Ern passed away on October 31, 1955. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.

Leola was a member of the Richmond South Ward for many years, where she served as the Young woman's camp director and as Primary worker. She was known for being a very industrious person. Leola worked at many different places, a few of which include the Richmond Cafe, City Library, and Theurers market. She loved animals and riding horses. She rode in the Days of'47 Parade in Salt Lake City in 1947 with the Richmond Riding Club. Leola belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was a 78-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer at the Senior Citizen Center.

Leola married Neldon Anderson in 1963 and he passed away in 1976.

She is survived by her 3 children, a daughter Gloria (Robert) Green of Lake wood, California, and 2 sons, R. Dell (LuAnn) Tripp of Richmond, Utah and Lynn (Mary) Tripp of Apache Junction, Arizona. Eleven grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

She is also survived by two sisters, Cleone Halverson of Richmond, Utah, and Gay Ward and her husband John, of Escondido, California and sister-in-laws Ruth Tripp of West Chester, Ohio, Roxie Hutchinson of California and Althea Fullmer of Smithfield, Utah, and brother-in-laws and their spouses, Lyle and Renae Anderson, and Rex and Dixie Anderson of Richmond, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, 3 brothers, Clayne, Lyle, and Ivan Tripp and 1 sister, Gwen Calico.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 9,2005 at the City Creek Ward Chapel, 150 South 100 East in Richmond. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 8, from 7 - 9 PM and on Thursday June 9, at 10:30 - 11:30 AM at the church. Services will be conducted by Bishop Braegger. Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences may be sent to the family by signing the guestbook at www.allenmortuaries.net
