North Logan - Leona Mae Sorensen, age 92, went the way of the earth on Sunday, January 19, 2014. Leona was born to John and Frieda Spuhler of Providence, Utah on May 9, 1921. She met her husband, Alton Cole Sorensen, in Logan, Utah, and they were married September 15, 1946.
She was the mother of: Clair Sorensen, Gerald Sorensen, Warren Sorensen, Jackie Midzinski, Kendall Sorensen, Edwin Sorensen, Galane Young, Kaylin Nelson, Dena Benson, Alix Sorensen, Jacob Sorensen, and MaKade Sorensen. She was preceded in death by her husband Alton, and sons Clair and Edwin.
She was an accomplished organist, loved playing for her family, and spent many years as an organist in her church. She served in a variety of church callings, most notably in the Relief Society.
Her favorite pastimes were her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her piano, and her gardens.
Leona's Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Allen-Hall Mortuary chapel, 34 East Center Street, Logan, Utah. Friends and family may call at the mortuary Wednesday between 12:30-1:30 P.M. She will be laid to rest in the Logan cemetery.
