Leslie Glade Classick

April 17, 1928 — October 6, 2006

Leslie G. Classick died October 6th, 2006 in his home of heart failure. He was born April 17, 1928 in Hurley, South Dakota to Harold John and Jenny Classick.

He married Charlotte Marie Christiansen August 20, 1950. She died June 19, 1985. He married Dottie Jean Colby on June 30, 1988. He was a member of the Congregational Church.

Les was very active in sports as a young man and enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren in his later years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and served as an instructor at the quartermaster school at Ft. Lee, Virginia.

He received a B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa in 1950, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 1958 and a post doctorate degree in Veterinary Microbiology and preventative medicine from Iowa State University in 1971. He taught high school biology and science, practiced large animal medicine, was a research veterinarian at the National Animal Disease Center, was an assistant professor at Iowa State University, was an industrial veterinarian in research and worked as a veterinary consultant. He was a member of five honorary fraternities in the fields of education, biological science, agriculture, veterinary medicine and all college.

He is survived by wife Dottie and his four sons, Nic of Parker Colorado, Harold and Craig of Arvada Colorado, Charles of Springfield Missouri and nine grandchildren. His father and mother and older brother Harold preceded him in death.

He was cremated and burial will be in the Louisville
Colorado Cemetery.
