Lillian E. Wilson passed away in her home Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Hyde Park, Utah. She was born September 8, 1921 in Dry Fork District, West Virginia to Jay Parsons White and Florence Emeline Woodford. She married Floyd G. Wilson on October 6, 1940 in Elkins, West Virginia. They joined the LDS Church March 10, 1967 and were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple in 1968.
Lillian was an amazing mother of two and a loyal and faithful companion to her beloved Floyd. She was very involved in compassionate service in her ward, she never forget any family member's birthdays, she loved to read and write poetry, and she was very artistic and often included her own art when creating handouts for the Relief Society and Primary. She dedicated her whole life to her children in her role as a homemaker. From the time she was very small she believed in her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and instilled this belief in her two young children. She taught her children to be respectful of their elders, have proper manners, and to be kind to other people. She was supportive of her husband Floyd in his role as the provider and kept her home meticulously clean, creating a foundation for her family to be able to grow, feeling secure. There was never any doubt that she loved us. She was always willing to support her husband in the many moves that his employment required of him. She lived in 9 different states during her lifetime.
She cared a lot about her friends and was always doing special things for them to make them feel important. She kept all of the gifts that had been given to her because of the person that gave it to her. She could tell a story about each and every item and who gave it to her and how much they meant to her. She served in many roles in the church, including becoming the Kansas City West Relief Society District President, which required her to travel 5500 miles a year to serve each ward in the district. She loved working in the Primary as well. She also supported her husband in his role as a branch president in the Ulysses Branch in Kansas. She and Floyd served a 3 year temple mission in the Denver, Colorado Temple.
She will be missed by everyone. She is survived by a son, Kenneth W. (Patricia) Wilson of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Linda Sue (V.Gordon) Lind of Hyde Park, Utah; a niece Arneth Irene Hammer of Elkins, West Virginia, 21 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was so proud of her many posterity and their accomplishments. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the Hyde Park 8th Ward Chapel, 480 N. 100 W. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Providence Cemetery in River Heights. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
