Lillian Craven Phelps

September 30, 1915 — May 13, 2006

Grace Lillian Craven Shoot Phelps was born on September 30. 1915, along with her twin brother Lindon, to their parents Thomas and Elizabeth Craven in Paxton, Illinois.
Lillian lived in Charleston, Illinois for her school years. Her father owned a restaurant, so she stood on a box, washing dishes and developed a strong work ethic. She graduated from high school, and with the passing of her father she went to work for Buster Brown Shoe factory to help support her family. She was awarded many accolades for her dependability and hard work.
In 1938 she married Charles Eugene Shoot and moved to Ashmore, Illinois. They had two children, Judith Ann and Jerry Gene. They were later divorced.
In 1951 Lillian married Frank Phelps Jr. and they subsequently moved to Logan Utah. They later moved to Nibley where they made their home for their remaining years. They loved their "Happy Valley" and were treated so kindly by their neighbors.
Lillian was blessed with talent of crochet. She made beautiful sweaters, hoods, booties and blankets that she loved to work on and give to those she cared about.
When her husband passed she joined the Senior Citizens in Logan and enjoyed the friends she made there and loved the events of the group. In 2003 she decided it was no longer wise to live in her home and made her new home at Pioneer Valley Lodge. She made many friends there and was very happy.
In January of 2006 she moved to her daughters home. On May 1 she suffered a heart attack and acute renal failure. Returning to her daughter and son-in-laws home, with the aid of hospice care she remained until her passing on May 12.
She was preceded in death by her Son, Jerry Dean Phelps and her husband Frank Phelps Jr., sisters, Nina Harshbarger and half sister Kathryn Smith and her brothers Jerry, Ernest and Lindon .

Surviving is her sister, Jessie Reid, Ankeny, Iowa and 3 nieces and 4 nephews. Her Daughter, Judy Jensen,
