Linda Lott Ravsten, 82, of Clarkston Utah passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Clarkston Utah. She was born on October 7, 1942, in Ogden, Utah to James Vernile and Sadie Godfrey Lott.

She is survived by her husband Stephen L Ravsten just shy of their 63rd year of marriage.

Linda was the 2nd oldest of five children. Three sisters and one brother. Annette Jardine, SLC, Utah, Karen Thompson (deceased), (Norman), Mesa, Ariz., Sharon Clark (Jay), Smithfield, Utah, and Stanley Lott (deceased) (Jeri) Malad, Idaho.

Linda cherished the red brick home with white trim where she grew up. In her younger years she enjoyed outdoor games such as hopscotch, jumping rope, kick the can and hide and seek. As a family they would play croquet, basketball, and softball together, which Linda loved. She had fond memories of their family trips via train to Arizona (the sleeper car was fun for her), Washington when she was twelve to help Aunt Blanche, and after she graduated high school to visit Aunt Iva Lue and her family in San Francisco, California. Riding the cable cars there was Linda’s favorite.

Music was one of the many passions that brought joy to Linda. During high school she had several roles in musicals. She was a talented musician who played both piano and organ and regularly sang in and led the church choir. This love of music grew throughout her entire life, and she brought much joy to others with this talent.

After high school Linda attended cosmetology school in Salt Lake City, Utah. She continued with the skills she learned there throughout her life, blessing many friends and family with beautiful haircuts, styling and her specialty perms.

Linda met a young man who grew up just down the street from her in Clarkston, Utah. Her first date with Stephen Ravsten was on a Sunday in June of 1958. Linda loved to dance and said Stephen was “a very good dancer”. Stephen purposed on Dec 9, 1961, Linda said she was “totally surprised”. Linda married Stephen Ravsten March 16, 1962, in the Logan LDS temple. Life for this young woman from the small town of Clarkston was just beginning. She and Stephen lived in multiple areas throughout their lives. Logan, Utah, West Allis, WI, Richardson, TX, Garden Grove, CA, Horsholm, Denmark, back to Richardson, TX, and finally back to Clarkston, UT. She used to say that the meadow lark’s song said, “Clarkston is a pretty little town”. During this time, they invited five children into her home. Stephanie Tilley (Charlie), Ridgecrest, Ca, Erick Morris Ravsten (LeAnne) Farmersville, Tx, Amy Elsbury (Joel), Blue Ridge TX, James Byron Ravsten (Rebecca) Fort Worth, TX, Melanie Hill, (Russell) Winslow, Ark.

Family was the center of Linda’s world. She was a devout wife, mother and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As her husband’s career took him to places all over the world, she managed their home while he was away and supported her children in all areas. Her sons becoming Eagle Scouts was a source of great honor for Linda, she personally sewed on each merit badge and rank advancement they received. She wrote faithfully to her sons weekly during their full-time missions. She taught and instilled lifelong nurturing skills to her daughters and attended many of their musical and dance performances. She served in the LDS church when and where she was called at a ward or a Stake level in the Relief Society, the Young Women, and Primary organizations as teacher, counselor, and president. She also served diligently in the Dallas Temple for many years.

Linda loved children. She blessed the lives of her own children and the lives of her 20 grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren.

Linda exemplified throughout her life the 13th Article of Faith. She is honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and did good to all men and women. She hoped in and believed in Jesus Christ. She endured many things and hoped to endure all things because of her faith. She sought good things. We miss our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
