Lloyd Ray Naylor, 77, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. Lloyd was born September 7, 1934 in Logan, Utah to Hyrum and Ethel Naylor, their seventh child. He grew up in Logan in the old Eighth Ward and had a wonderful childhood, which he told stories of, along with the friends he shared them with.
Lloyd went to Whittier Elementary School and always praised the principal, Edith Bowen, who he says taught him to read. At age 17, Lloyd enlisted in the U.S. Navy for four years. He met Sharon Provant in Salt Lake City and it was “Love at first sight.” she was the only girl he ever brought home to meet his parents. They were married December 31, 1956 and later solemnized their marriage in the Logan LDS Temple. They have been happily married for 55 years. Lloyd, Sharon, and Scott lived in different parts of the country because of Lloyd’s job. They have resided in Logan ever since.
Lloyd loved to be outdoors, especially going for rides with Sharon and family members. He dearly loved his family and went out of the his way to care for them. He was a wonderful, caring person to his family, and always doing good deeds. Lloyd was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a High Priest in the Logan Crockett Ward.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his baby daughter, Lori Ann Naylor, his parents, Hyrum and Ethel Naylor. His sister Leora Christensen and his brothers Joseph LeRoy, Russell (Dee), Dean (Donna), and Ross (Janet) Naylor.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Sharon, his son Scott (JoAnn) and his two grandchildren Jace (Pech) and his favorite granddaughter Jenna. His sister Donna (Charles) Mortensen and his sister-in-laws Janet (Ross) Naylor and Leah (Chris) Christensen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at noon at the Logan Crockett Ward 325 Lauralin Dr, Logan. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:45 am prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery following the funeral.
