Lois Jean Ohlson Taylor

July 9, 1925 — August 14, 2005

LOGAN, UTAH: Lois Jean Ohlson Taylor, 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, August 14, 2005, at Logan Nursing and Rehab Center. Lois was born July 9, 1925, daughter to Engward S., and Mary LaVerne Crandall Ohlson. She graduated from Ogden high School. She was married January 5, 1945 to George Robert Taylor. After George completed his service in the U.S. Navy, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Lois loved creating beautiful artwork. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, and the talents she generously shared with all around her. She loved painting, including oils, tole and ceramics. She also loved cross stitching, quilting, sewing, crocheting and knitting, and she loved teaching and sharing these talents with others.

Lois and George shared sixty years of marriage, of which the last forty-six have been spent in Logan. She gave birth to six daughters, and is loved as a mother by several others.

Her spirit was bold and her determination strong in the face of many health struggles, and she taught us well how to endure to the end. Despite much pain and many obstacles, she never gave up and never gave in and never lost her desire to create beautiful things.

Lois is survived by her husband, George, and five daughters: Nancy Borg(Lynn), Carole Jensen, Lois Amussen(Doug), Lysle Langston(Albert), Mary Lou Froman(Don), a niece, Sharon Perry(Ivan), two brothers, Ed Ohlson and Gerry Ohlson, a special cousin and best friend, Vera Waller, sixteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Vera Rae Hardy, her parents, brothers Don and Ralph, and a sister, Dorothy.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Logan Nursing and Rehab Center, Logan Regional Hospital, and Alpine Hospice for their compassion and kindness.

A special note: Mom retired her army boots years ago, but never lost her love for the old motorcycle gang.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 18, 2005, at the Logan 7th Ward Chapel, 565 East 100 South, Logan, Utah, with Bishop Craig Hislop conducting. Friends and family may call from 6-8 PM Wednesday, August 17, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, and Thursday at the church from 10:30-11:45. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
