NEWTON, UTAH: - Lois Benson, 67, died unexpectedly Monday, December 19, 2011 at Ogden Regional Medical Center. She was born April 19, 1944 in Brigham City, Utah to Arnold D Francis and Lillian Christensen.
She married Val J. Benson on July 9, 1965. They lived in Newton all of their married life. The last five years of her life she has lived in Perry, Utah. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters.
Lois loved to travel around the world. She never missed a good day shopping with her red hat friends. She loved girls night out with her daughters, and time spent with her grandkids.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a wonderful ward librarian and visiting teacher.
Lois is survived by her daughters Valerie (Keven) Harsh, Murray, Utah, Jeanette (Russell) Buttars, Herriman, Utah, and Jeneil (Patrick) Williams, Stansbury-Utah and 6 Grandchildren,
Jessica (Brady) Barney, Heather Buttars, Matthew Williams, Josilyn Harsh, Blake Harsh, Hayden Harsh and two brothers , Dale (JoAnne) Francis and Jim (Ruby) Francis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Val, parents and sister Betty Mitts.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am in the Newton LDS Chapel. There will be a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, in Logan and at the church from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Newton Cemetery.
