Lola Ranzenberger Ashliman, 93, passed away August 24, 2013 at the Logan Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 18, 1919 in Providence, Utah the first of five daughters born to David Henry & Maud LeFay Walker Ranzenberger. She married Marvin Leo Ashliman Aug. 26, 1936 in Logan. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He died on Dec. 12, 1990. They were blessed with four children: Joan Ashliman of Providence; Larry, deceased (Annette) of Mendon; Ronald (Karen) of Middleton, Id.; Deloy of Providence. Their posterity include: 22 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren and 2 great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, son Larry and her four sisters.
Mom has been active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life, teaching Primary children for 20 years. The oldest boys were her pride and joy. She spent many years in the Relief Society as handicraft leader, Relief Socielty President and Mt. Logan Stake Secretary/treasurer.
She worked at the Providence Post Office as a postal clerk for 12 years. She and her son, Deloy opened a clock repair and ceramic shop at their home in 1972. This brought her many years of enjoyment and numerous friends.
For many years she was a member of the Elizabeth Mathews Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers where she held the office of captain and secretary.
A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Logan Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, the nurses and staff at Access and Senior Care especially Bobbiemae and Britnee for their loving care of mother during the last months. She loved those girls.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30 in the Providence 8th Ward LDS Chapel, 155 N. 100 E. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. Thurs. evening and at the chapel on Fri. morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Internment will be in the Providence City Cemetery.
