Lora Jean Andersen Woodbury, 78, passed away Friday, September 22, 2006, after an extended illness.
Lora was born December 29, 1927, in Logan, Utah, to Hans Andersen and Eoline Sanders Andersen. She grew up in Petersboro and attended Cache County schools, graduating from South Cache High School in "1944". In 1950 she married LaVarr Dawson Woodbury. Their marriage was later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They raised three children, Bruce, Sherry and Brett. Lora worked in the offices of several local retail establishments including the F.W. Woolworth Company, and J.C. Penney's. She retired from J.C. Penney's in 1993. During' her working career, she was active in the Logan Business and Professional Women's Organization. After retiring, she continued to give service by acting as the treasurer of the Logan Regional Hospital Volunteer Group. She was also active in the auxiliaries of the Elks Lodge and Post 12, The American Legion. She was an avid bowler and was often found with friends on the golf course at the Logan Golf and Country Club.
She is survived by her three children, Bruce (Pat Berardy), Richland, Washington, Sherry Pollock (Stan), Wellsville, and Brett, Kent, Washington, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Jones (Wilford) of Littleton, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVarr Dawson Woodbury, her parents, Hans and Eoline Andersen, her brothers Zeno, Keith-, Glen, and Wendell, and her sister Mary Hagemeister.
A viewing will be held at the Allen-Hall Mortuary on Thursday, September 28th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Another viewing will be held prior to the funeral on Friday, September 29th, from 10:30 to 11 :30 a.m. in the Hillcrest First Ward building with the funeral following at 12:00 pm. It will be under the direction of Bishop Larry Shirk of the Hillcrest First Ward. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
