Loretta Spillers Walborn passed away June 12, 2015, at home after fighting pulmonary fibrosis for several years. She was surrounded by family. Loretta was born in West Liberty, Ohio, on Nov. 7, 1923, to George J. Spillers and Emma Mae Arnold. Loretta was the 10th of 13 children. Her family worked together farming learning early to work till the job is done, then play. She mar- ried Robert C. Walborn, whom she met when the moved to Maple Wood, Ohio. She was in the third grade and he was in the fifth grade. They were mar- ried Aug. 30, 1941, in Port Jefferson, Ohio, by Rev. Peter Fox of the Method- ist Church. They had two children, Sylvia Francis and Charles Le Roy. Robert passed away May 10, 2011, just short of their 70th wedding anniversary. Robert served in the U.S. Army. While there on the island of Peleliu he was converted to the LDS Church. In 1951 they moved to Preston, Idaho, where the lived till 1960 when they moved to Logan, Utah. There Loretta had the opportunity to work in Primary and Relief Soci- ety. She spent many years cleaning homes, tending to children and caring for the ill and elderly, learning to love them all. She also worked several years at Keith’s Mar- ket. In 1988 she and Robert had the opportunity to serve an 18-month mission in the Poplar Bluff Missouri Mission where they were stake missionaries. Loretta is preceded in death by her husband Robert Carl Wal- born and her daughter Syl- via Walborn Schiess. She is survived by Sylvia’s children Royce Williams, Richard (Tracie) Williams, Robert (Irada) Schiess, Suzanne (Robert) Guajardo, Charles and Edna Walborn their chil- dren Carla (Kenny) Zielke, Marcos Walborn, Sena (Lloyd) Clark, Dotti (Scott) McCabe, Rachel (Derek) Farr, Loretta (Zack) White, Treva (Wayne) Gabrish, and James (Laurina) Walborn, a brother Robert Spillers and sister Dorothy McCafferty of Ohio and Ben and Marie Schiess of Idaho. A viewing will be held Monday, June 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen- Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan. Services will be held Tuesday at noon at the Logan 14th Ward, 94 W. 600 South, Logan, Utah,with a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the ser- vice. Interment will be at the Logan cemetery.
