Lori Prince Peterson died the evening of Thursday, Nov. 22, 2013, in West Haven, Utah when she was struck by a car, while warning oncoming traffic of two horses that were loose on the busy county road. Lori’s son, Trevin, who was helping her to catch the horses, remained by her side throughout the tragic event.
Lori was born in Logan on May 10, 1960, to Edwin Mulloy Prince and Aldyth Arleene Brown. She lived the majority of her life in Cache Valley as well as a short time in Bountiful and West Haven, Utah during the latter part of her life.
Lori was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was married to Blake Peterson on June 26, 1981 and was blessed with two children.
During her life, Lori pursued and earned her Nursing degree. She worked in Labor and Delivery, Women’s Center, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and a Cardiovascular Clinic. When she wasn’t working she was spending her time with her children. She enjoyed skiing at Beaver Mountain, attending her son’s art exhibitions, and supporting her daughter’s hobby of horse shows and rodeos. There wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for her children.
She could often be found working in her garden, playing with her dog, and caring for her horses. In the fall of 2012 and the winter of 2013 Lori became the Grandmother to two beautiful boys. She found so much joy in being with them and spoiling them as often as she could. Her final weekend was joyfully spent taking her children and grandsons horseback riding.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Aldyth Prince, less than 1 year earlier, and her father Mulloy Prince 16 years prior. Lori is survived by her children: Trevin (Sarah) Prince of Logan, Utah, Teana (Marc) Error of Salt Lake City, Utah and her ex-husband Blake Peterson of Providence, Utah. Her surviving siblings are Ken (Sue) Prince of Ogden, Utah and Lesley (Jeff) Perkins of Young Ward, Utah. She is also survived by her two grandsons Théoden and Luke, with another on the way.
