December 30, 1924 — November 20, 2022

LouElla McCulloch Ryan, 97, of Logan, Utah, passed away peacefully on Saturday night, November 20, 2022 at Autumn Care Assisted Living Center.

Lou was born on December 30, 1924, in Logan, Utah. She was the daughter of David and LaRue Crowther McCulloch. They had three daughters, LouElla being the firstborn. She married the man who had his eyes on her since they were 12 years old, William R. Ryan, Bill. They were sweethearts since they were 16 and became eternal companions in the Logan LDS Temple on May 21, 1946. They had 6 children.

Lou was raised in Logan where she attended public schools, graduating from Logan High School in 1943. She then attended Utah State Agricultural College where she studied art, a love and talent she never lost. Lou was employed by Thorne and Wilson Financial Company for 25 years.

Mother loved her Savior with all her heart and demonstrated her devotion to Him throughout her life. She would say her greatest blessing was her children, a treasure she will hold and be blessed by forever. She lived her faith every day. In every role, she was loyal and bright. She was actively engaged in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in several callings. She accepted a call to serve as Relief Society President of the Logan 5th Ward at the age of 82 and served diligently and compassionately until her 87th birthday. Lou and Bill served a mission together at the Logan LDS Institute, Logan High and Mountain Crest Seminaries with the special needs students. A calling they loved with all their hearts.

Mother was a wonderful teacher, principally by the example of her life. She lived her life as a witness of the Son of God. She loved her family and by her example she has blessed her entire posterity and all who know her. She lived her life by the motto love one another as the Savior loves us.

She is survived by her beloved children, Nancy Stone (Dan), Logan, Janet Bell (Brad, deceased), Hyrum, Carol Stowers, (Steve), Nibley, Wm. Scott Ryan (Diane), Hyrum, David B.
