Louise Muir Andersen

Louise Muir Andersen peacefully passed from this life surrounded by family on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in Logan, UT. Louise was born to Rhoda Louise Ahrens and William Gilbert Muir in Mendon, UT on October 11, 1933. She married her high school sweetheart, L Jay Andersen, of Hyrum, UT on September 20, 1951. Together they had four children,

Louise was raised on the family farm at the base of her beloved "Mendon Mountains". Louise had such fond memories of helping on the farm, riding the train and carefree days of playing with her many friends and cousins. She attended South Cache High School where she found a love of dance and spent many weekends with her friends at the Elite Hall in Hyrum dancing the latest dances. She had a love of music with country music being her favorite. She was a self-taught guitar player and delighted her children and grandchildren with her talent on many occasions. She loved attending concerts, musicals and theatre.

Mom traded her mountains for frozen prairies as Dad's career took them to Manitoba, Canada in 1960. It did not take her long to love her new community and build friendships that continued until her passing. She also lived in Idaho and North Dakota due to Dad's work and was delighted to make the move back to Cache Valley many years later. Louise worked for First Security Bank in Idaho and then in Logan and retired as the bank merged with Wells Fargo. Louise enjoyed her years with First Security Bank and made many friends during that time. After retirement, she continued to meet with her "bank ladies" for their regular lunches (which often lasted for hours) until her health no longer allowed.

Louise was also known as Grandma Weese to her grandchildren and Grandma Jelly Bean to her great grandchildren. She loved being a grandmother and spoiling each and every grandchild that came to her home. She rarely missed a soccer game, a dance recital or a track meet as she cheered them on. Sleepovers at Gram's were a favorite with late night card games, puzzles and her homemade treats. Louise's 4th of July parties were legendary and drew family and friends from great distances. She loved bringing her extended family together and catching up with everyone's lives.

Louise is survived by her husband L. Jay Andersen and four children, Dennis J Andersen of Hyrum, UT, Debra L. Winchester of Santa Monica, CA, LeeAnn Ferrara (David) of North Logan, UT and Joni L Harrison (Wade) of Logan, UT, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, along with her step grand and great grandchildren and sister Joyce Whitsel. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Clark Muir and Don Muir and daughter-in-law Linda Lee Sant Andersen.

Louise was cherished by all and will be greatly missed. A viewing will be held Wednesday, February 14, from 6 to 8 p m at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St, Logan UT, with a graveside service on Thursday, February 15, at noon at the Mendon City Cemetery.
