LuAnn Peacock Burnside, 80, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born in Driggs, Idaho on September 25, 1933 to George and Doris Peacock. She was an only child but was raised on a large ranch with a lot of extended family.
LuAnnn graduated from Teton High School in 1951 and then was married to Nile on October 10, 1951 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They started their life together in Idaho Falls until 1959 when they moved to Logan, Utah and purchased the family home where they still reside. LuAnn was a homemaker until 1969 when she began her career in the insurance department of the Budge Clinic until 2001 when she fully retired. She has continued to volunteer at IHC 1-2 days a week since.
LuAnn loved flowers – many flowers – and always had all her flower beds full and colorful each year. She worked many hours tending to their large garden and numerous flowers. She loved the fall leaves and there were many birthday rides through the canyons to listen to her ooh and awe at the beautiful leaves.
Grandma played a huge role in helping raise the grandkids. It didn’t matter the reason or how long, they were always welcome at grandma’s house and we always knew they were well taken care of. We love you and thank you for all the help – we couldn’t have done it without you.
LuAnn is survived by her husband Nile and four children - Steven (Julie), Rio Rancho, NM, Linda (Steven) Hillyard, Tacoma, WA, Rusty (Bonnie), Logan, UT and Karla (Rinx) Hansen, Logan, UT. Grandchildren - Jeremy, Ian, Lindsey, Dustin, Nicole, Shana, Stephanie and Neal. Great-grandson - Peija. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law Paul Hillyard.
LuAnn served in many church callings and served faithfully without question. She was also an active member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
