Lucille Elaine Taylor Wennergren Chlarson was born Jan 12, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Ace Joseph and Ethel Stander Taylor. Her life’s journey ended on August 24, 2024. Lucille spent her early years in Bear River City with her five siblings Trude, Helen, Beverly, Frank, and Roger. She worked hard along side her dad on the family farm, followed her mom around in the kitchen. Later in life as her parents aged, she took great pride in being able to care for her mother and father. Lucille loved researching her family history and spent many hours doing genealogy.
Lucille attended Bear River High School and graduated in 1948. In the summer of 1948, she was selected as Brigham City Peach Days Queen. That same summer, she moved to Logan to attend Utah State Agricultural College (USU). Lucille was affiliated with the Alpha Chi Omega sorority where she was chosen as Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. While attending school, she met many of her lifelong friends and her husband, Emil Boyd Wennergren. Boyd and Lucille were married on November 29, 1951. They were later sealed in the Logan temple. Boyd and Lucille had 3 children, Gloria, Sheila, and Steven. One of Boyd’s work assignments took the family to La Paz, Bolivia, where they lived for two years.
Early in Lucille’s adult life, she worked as an X-ray technician for the doctors at the Budge Clinic. Upon their return home from Bolivia, Lucille continued her career as an X-ray technician for 20 years. She was later married to J. Cecil Chlarson in June of 1977. Together they resided in Logan, Utah. One of Lucille’s greatest blessings in life was her role as grandma to Andrew, Garrett, Jaclyn, Dallas and Tori. She attended several programs, sporting events, and rodeos. Grandma Lucy was their BIGGEST cheerleader, always with her camera in hand. At the age of 86, she finally became a great grandma of 12 beautiful great grandchildren, something she was extremely proud of. Grandma Lucy was a selfless woman, always more worried about taking care of other people and making them feel loved, than worrying about herself. She was full of love, kindness, and sass. She will be missed more than words will ever express and we will continue to follow in her path.
Lucille is survived by her daughter Sheila Thurston; step-children, Jeri (Marlin) Hill, Alan Chlarson, Linda DuBois; her grandchildren, Andrew (Siearra) Skanchy, Garrett (Karli) Thurston, Jaclyn (Josh) Stuart, Dallas (Jamie) Thurston, and Tori (Cameron) Brown; her great-grandchildren, Max and Ava Skanchy; Larami, Laci, and Evan Thurston; Hadley, Beck, and Jossi Stuart; Talon and Navie Thurston; Clara and Liam Brown; her step-grandchildren, step-family, and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, J. Cecil Chlarson (spouse), E. Boyd Wennergren; her daughter Gloria Skanchy, and her stepson Edward C. Chlarson.
Lucille’s family would like to express their appreciation to the caregivers and staff at Maple Springs Senior Living for the care and comfort they provided.
