LUCILLE HOLLAND OWENS
LOGAN, Lucille Holland Owens, age 93, passed away with her family by her side at Logan Regional Hospital on May 22, 2008. She was born July 4, 1914 to Marion William Holland and Florida Autry Holland in Memphis, Texas. She was the second of eight children.
She grew up and was educated in Oklahoma and lived there until she moved to Los Angeles, California and was married to Alvin Franklin Owens in January of 1942.
Alvin and Lucille were the parents of three daughters and lived in California until they retired and returned to live in Oklahoma in 1974.
Alvin passed away in 1995 and Lucille moved to Logan Utah in 1997 to live with her daughter until October 2007 when she became a resident of Sunshine Terrace.
Lucille lived a life of service to others which she performed in many ways. Her priority in life was helping others learn from God's Word the wonderful things that meant so much to her. She had been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for most of her life.
She is survived by her three daughters who love her very much, Lori Morales of St. Louis, Mo., Carolyn Sue Beard (Ronald) of Logan, Ut. and Janet Lynn Fowler of Logan, Ut., Brothers, A.D. Holland of Waco, Tx., Bill Holland of Waco, Tx., and sisters Jean Johnson of Kent, Oh. and Jo Stewart of Houston, Tx . She also leaves nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, sisters Ruth Odom, Ozelle Abbott, brother J.C. Holland, one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and humor that her family and many friends will never forget.
Lucille's family deeply appreciate the wonderful care she received from Dr. Jeff Strong and his staff, the Staff at Logan Regional Medical Unit and Emergency Room and all the wonderful caring people at Sunshine Terrace.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Nibley, Utah at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 26,2008. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
