Lucinda Coy Anderson Dickey

November 1, 1921 — February 26, 2010

Lucinda Coy Dickey passed away peacefully Feb. 26, 2010 in her home, at the age of 88. She was born in Millville, Utah Nov. 1, 1921, the 8th of 10 children, born to Charles C. and Hidvie Caroline Nielson Anderson.
She was raised in Millville and graduated from South Cache High. She met her eternal companion, Arnold Waldo Dickey, while she was attending USU and they were married in the Logan LDS Temple on May 23rd, 1945. She and Arnold raised nine children in a loving home and enjoyed countless family adventures and gatherings for their children and grandchildren One of the greatest joys of her life was spending time with her family.
She was a member of the LDS church and enjoyed serving in the church throughout her life. She served as Relief Society President and other positions within the Relief Society, Young Women’s organization, Primary Teacher, Ward Music Chairman and was a member of the ward choir all of her life. She also spent many years serving as a Data Entry Typist in the Extraction program.
She served on the Millville-Nibley Cemetery board as Clerk-Treasurer and kept the Cemetery records up to date. She served as an Election Judge for many years as well and belonged to the Millette Club, a ladies social club in Millville.
She had been active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers since the Lusannah G. Hovey Camp was organized, holding several offices. She especially enjoyed serving as President of Cache Far South Company, where she met and learned to love so many of the daughters.
She loved the outdoors and spent many hours gardening and nurturing her flowers. She and Arnold taught their children to be grateful for the beauty of nature.
She is survived by five sons and four daughters, David (Lynnette) Dickey of Millville, Robert (Brenda) Dickey of Providence, Blaine (Judy) Dickey of Millville, Carol (Melvin) Beutler of Weston, Sherry (Larry) Lowery of Avon, Mark (Rachelle) Dickey of Sandy, Kay (Martha) Dickey of Midvale, Sheila (Tony) Olenichak of Idaho Falls, Janet (Blake) Hatch of Hyde Park; 54 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; two sisters Clarice (Bruce) Peterson of Brigham, and Radah (Delmar) Iverson of Millville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, seven siblings, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends and family may attend the Viewing from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 2nd at Allen-Hall Mortuary at 34 East Center Street in Logan, and Wednesday from 10:30 am - 11:30 am at the Providence South Stake Center in Millville located at 360 East 450 North. The funeral will be held at the Stake Center as well on March 3rd at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in the Millville City Cemetery following the funeral service.
