Lucy Gardner Cole

July 4, 1911 — July 10, 2005

SPRINGVILLE, UTAH: Lucy G. Cole, 94, passed away of causes incident to age on Sunday, July 10, 2005 in Springville.

She was born July 4, 1911 in Logan, Utah a daughter of Willard and Rebecca Viola Hale Gardner, the third of seven children. She married Larry Snow Cole on September 26, 1929 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He died on April 27, 1994.

She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed many arts and craft hobbies, and was active in many social and service organizations, including USU Faculty Wives, PTA, Kiwaniannes, and especially the hospital volunteer auxiliary, having started the hospital gift shop at the old Logan Hospital, which was originally a gift cart built by Larry, and which she helped manage for 14 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie and Wilford Gardner, Mapleton; a son, Richard Cole, Redmond, WA; seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, brothers, Walter H. Gardner, John H. and Olga Gardner, Willard H. and DeAnn Gardner; a sister, Relda G. and Frank Bringhurst. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Nathan H. and Alma H. Gardner and their wives, sister-in-law, Barbara Brown Gardner (Walter).

Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the Logan City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan, Thursday from 12:00 - 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Larry S. Cole and Lucy G. Cole Scholarship Fund, Utah State University, College of Engineering,4100 Old Main, Logan, Utah 84322-4100
