Lynn Neeley Bullen

August 18, 1937 — August 1, 2018

Lynn Neeley Bullen beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in St. George, Utah. Lynn was born in Logan, Utah on August 18, 1937 to Dean Johnson Bullen and Ida Jane Neeley Bullen. He was the second of three sons who grew up hunting, fishing, and roaming the mountains and fields of Richmond, Utah.

He graduated from North Cache High School in 1955 and served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He spoke fondly of his time in the military and a highlight was living a year at the Thule Air Force Base in Greenland. After returning home to Cache Valley, Lynn bought a new red Pontiac Bonneville that caught the eye of a young lady while “dragging Main” in Logan. Family folklore has it, the Sheriff was so upset with Lynn for driving so fast, that his license was taken away and Nancy had to drive him around town. Lynn married Nancy Kaye Burrell on August 3, 1962 in the Logan LDS Temple. The couple always lived in Utah. Most of their married life was spent in River Heights where they had six children. In the last few years, they lived in Farr West and St. George.

Lynn retired after 30 years of employment from Utah State University in the Physical Plant. He was always curious about new technology and took another job with Johnson Controls installing automated HVAC systems. This was his “dream job” until an injury forced him to retire again.

Lynn loved his family and the outdoors. He combined the two with many family hunting, fishing, and camping trips and has passed along this appreciation to his children and grandchildren. Even after it was difficult for him to walk, he went fishing on his scooter with Nancy tagging along carrying all the gear.

Lynn, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, had a strong testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. He shared many personal experiences that solidified his conviction in the plan of salvation, eternal families, and life after death.

Lynn is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Bullen (St. George, UT); Brother, Larry (Karen) Bullen, (Las Vegas, NV); Children, Kaye Lynne (Scott) Wahlstrom (Cranberry Twp., PA), Elizabeth (Tyler) Hyde (Middletown, RI), Jannette (Ron) Schofield (Roy, UT), Chad (Jennifer) Bullen (St. George, UT), and Kenneth (Andrea) Bullen (River Heights, UT); 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dean Glade Bullen; and one son, James Dean Bullen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, Utah. A viewing for friends and family will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary. A private memorial service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 for immediate and extended family. Interment will take place in the Logan City Cemetery.
