LOGAN, UTAH: Lynn R. Heaps, 68, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 due to congestive heart failure complicated by pneumonia. Dad was born March 20, 1943, to Orvil and Betsy Heaps, shortly after his twin Lyle. He grew up in Smithfield along with his two brothers and two sisters. He was taught to work and play hard.
Dad met Jolene, the love of his life, while at the Logana swimming pool. For dad it was love at first sight. Shortly after that, he convinced her he was her true love and they were married April 3, 1962. There life together was full of love and admiration for each other. They were sweethearts to the end.
Dad worked for RSM Food Services for most of his career as a deliveryman, then as salesman and a Vice President. He loved talking with people and enjoyed his job immensely.
In the Church, dad loved the gospel and he especially loved the temple. He served in many callings, including Bishop of the Park Avenue Ward. He was well loved and loved serving those around him.
At home dad loved working in the yard. He used this time to teach his children to work and have fun doing it. To this day, we all need music while we work.
Dad lived for his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. Anyone who really knew dad knew how he felt about family and especially babies. He loved the babies!
Dad loved to make people laugh, sometimes in ways he shouldn’t. But everyone loved his sense of humor. When Lynn walked in the room, the fun began.
More than anything else, Dad loved Mom. They were best friends. They were always in love. And they are eternal companions. We know that he is now rejoicing in his sweet reunion with his love.
Dad was proceeded in death by his wife Jolene, his Parents, his infant brother Orvil Scott Heaps, and his twin brother Lyle Heaps.
He is survived by his children, JaLynn Covert, JanaLee Johnson, Jeffrey (Caron) Heaps, Jared (Marissa) Heaps. Dad is survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, Randall Heaps, his sisters Rozara (Rudy) Globokar and Charlotte Gailey.
We would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Firth and Access Home Care for putting up with Dad’s guff and loving him for it. He appreciated you and told us many times.
Dad will be missed greatly but we are happy he is back in mom’s arms.
