Lynne Paoletti passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 after suffering from a long illness. Lynne was born on September 27, 1936 in Logan, Utah to Thomas Francis and Lois Robinson Paoletti. Both of her parents preceded her in death.
For fourteen years, Lynne worked as a Special Education teacher for the Ogden School District. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from Utah State University, minoring in Music, Speech, and English. She completed graduate work in Theatre Arts Management and Performance, and Special Education at the University of Oklahoma and Utah State University. She received the Outstanding Drama Graduate Award from Utah State University and the Best Actress Award from the University of Oklahoma. Lynne was also a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and Theta Alpha Phi Honorary Dramatic Fraternity.
Lynne’s experience in the theatre included working for three seasons with the Oregon Shakespearean Festival in Ashland, Oregon. She was also a founding member and public relations director for six seasons with the Old Lyric Repertory Company in Logan, Utah. Lynne’s love for music and opera led her to become a board member of Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre for twenty years, from 1992, the year of its inception, to the present.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 1:00 PM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 725 South 250 East, Hyde Park, Utah. The viewing will be held at the church one hour before the services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Lynne’s name to the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre in Logan, Utah.
