Marjorie Rock

February 7, 1922 — February 16, 2024

Logan, Utah

On Friday, February 16th, we lost a wonderful lady; our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all; Marjorie Anderson Rock. Only nine days previously, Marge energetically celebrated her 102nd birthday surrounded by family and friends.

Mom was born February 7, 1922, to Ellis and Leone Jessop Anderson in Millville, Utah. She was the oldest of four children. After moving to Nibley, she was raised on the family farm; thinning beets, herding cows, picking raspberries and beans and helping to preserve all the produce from their large garden and fruit trees.

She married Arch Rock, the love of her life, in the Logan LDS Temple after his release from the Army following World War II. She and Arch were happily married for 68 years until his death in 2008. Together they raised four children, Sharon (Ed) Black, Bob (Merri), JoAnn (Dave) Poulsen, and Jim (Lisa).

Between time spent raising their children, the family enjoyed extensive camping and travel together. In addition to her children, she is survived by her sister, Marilyn Anderson (Jim Goodman), eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marge was an excellent cook and homemaker and subsequently worked several years at USU Printing Services. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and with her husband, served a mission with LDS Employment Services.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen, and her two brothers LaVon and Tom. She believed her long life was the result of having a close family and many friends, all of whom will miss her love, kindness and sunny disposition.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Terrace Grove Assisted Living and Hospice Services where she spent the last six months of her life.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, February 24th, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St. Logan, UT, with a visitation from 10:30-11:30am. Interment will follow at the Paradise City Cemetery.
