Margaret Anderson

August 3, 1930 — November 6, 2016

Margaret Louray Jensen was born August 3, 1930, to Raymond Oluf and Lucile Rex Jensen. She was the eldest of 5 children. She had 3 brothers, Dean, R.D., Maeser, and 1 sister Judy. She passed away at home on November 6, 2016, at the age of 86.

She lived in Hyurm, Utah, and attended Lincoln Elementary School and South Cache High School.

She loved music, and after graduating from high school moved to Salt Lake City to work and study music at McCune School of Music. She was told she had a beautiful voice and did a lot of singing throughout her life, including solos, duets, trios, choirs, etc. She especially loved singing with her dad and one of their favorite Christmas songs was "Star of the East." She loved going to the opera and ballet. She also loved dancing when the Big Bands would play and remembers many dances at Elite Hall while growing up and also going all the way to Salt Air to dances.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions, mostly in music as the chorister and choir director, as well as teaching. She also put together musical programs using all of the talent in the ward, which were enjoyed by many.

She served a mission to Australia from 1954 to 1956 and thought it was very special to be able to go to that mission at that time when it was all one mission and there were no ward houses or stakes and they held meetings at member's homes. It took 3 weeks to travel there by cargo ship, and she served on both sides of the continent from Sydney to Perth. She also enjoyed stopping in Italy, Switzerland and France on her way home and having the opportunity to see those places in person. When she returned she went back to Salt Lake and worked at the church office building where she met her dear friend Jeanne.

She married Ray Osborn in January 1959. They had 3 children David, Evelyn, and Ed Ray. They were later divorced.

She married Wayne Anderson in April 1980, and he died in 1984.

Her most constant love and greatest joy through her life was her family. She dearly loved her children and often said what a joy and comfort they brought to her. When her in-laws and grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived, she eagerly added room in her big heart for them as well. She also dearly loved her grandparents, mom and dad, and her siblings and enjoyed spending any time with them that she could even if was just chatting on the phone. Having a baby sister meant the world to her and they did many things together throughout their lives, including seeing President David O. McKay in Salt Lake during an outing. She also had many dear friends and kept in touch with them throughout the years. One friend, Jeanne, she has kept in contact with for nearly 70 years. She also dearly loved her angels in he life, including her dear Pam who made her feel so beautiful by doing her hair and nails, and her hospice nurse Monte and other caregivers who watched over her, among many others through the years.

The other loves and interests of her life were many and varied. She loved doing needlework and crochet, and did many beautiful afghans for family and friends, as well as canvas needlework projects. Her grandchildren cherish the memories of coming over and seeing what she had for them in the big mouth frogs she made for each of them.

She also enjoyed painting landscapes and making unusual designs with doodle art. She dearly loved reading, mostly ancient history, geology, archeology and believed the purpose of life is to learn as much as we can. She was an avid gardener and nutrition expert and "foodie" and loved to share her knowledge with others whenever the subjects came up. She had a great sense of humor and kept her beautiful smile though life's ups and downs.

Our very own free spirit has gone on to see what great learning experiences there are beyond this earth. We will miss her dearly, but we know she was ready to take that leap and has danced off to heaven to sing with the angels.

She was preceded to the other side by her parents, and two brothers, Dean and R.D.

She is survived by 1 brother Maeser; 1 sister Judy (Richard) Facer; 3 children David (JoAnna) Osborn, Evelyn (Burke) Rust, Ed (Karrie) Osborn; 4 "treasures" grandchildren Zakk (Jen) Osborn, Taylor Osborn, Casey Rust, and Kalyee Rust; and 2 "greats" (great-grandchildren) R.J. and Arabella Osborn.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Hyrum Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Hyrum 1st Ward, 95 N. 675 W., for family and friends at 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
