Margaret Baugh passed away on February 3, 2015 in Salt Lake City. She was born
February 17, 1956 in Logan, Utah to Maxine and W. P. "Bill" Baugh and was the baby of
the family. She attended school in Logan and Smithfield and was very proud ofthe fact
that she graduated from Logan High and Seminary. Despite her mental disability, she
learned to read, write and do simple math.
She attended the Cache Instructional Workshop in Benson and Cache Education and
Training in Logan for many years. Among the skills she learned were putting together
mechanisms for Lazy Boy chairs and sprinkler wheels, working on the dish crews at
Juniper Inn and USU High Rise, watering plants at Ernst, and breaking cardboard for
cheese packing. She loved to take her little paycheck amount and add it to the balance
in her little book.
Margaret was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and
attended church regularly with her mother and family. She loved to watch conference
and sing along with the Tabernacle Choir. Primary songs were her favorites. She was
thrilled one day to meet and shake hands with President Spencer W. Kimball while
visiting Salt Lake City.
Margaret enjoyed meeting people and people loved meeting her. She has made many
friends over the years from school, church and workshops. She loved learning what
people were doing. She was quite the social butterfly at times. She participated in
Special Olympics and won many medals.
We would like to thank all those who worked with and served Margaret over the years.
She had many fond memories of friends, care givers and leaders. The Doctors and
Nursing staff at Logan Regional Hospital and St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake were so kind
and loving towards her in her final days.
Margaret was proceeded in death by her mother and father and her favorite dog,
Maggie. She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Hislop, Katheryn Vernon and Elizabeth
Maughan, her brother Clyde, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, February 12 at 11 a.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary. Family will visit with friends 9:30-10:30, prior to services. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
