Margaret attended school in Emery County and Salt Lake City; graduating from South Emery High School. She attended Stevens Henegar Business College for secretarial training. She married William (Bill) Kent Griffiths on Feb. 22, 1958 in Ferron, Utah. She was known affectionately as Lynne by her husband and they would have celebrated 55 years together this month.
Margaret lived a life of service as a dear wife, beloved mother and grandmother, and loving aunt. She was a wonderful friend to all she knew and had the ability to instantly make them feel welcome and loved. She touched the lives of many while living in Ogden, Utah, Tempe, Arizona and Heber/Overgaard, Arizona. She recognized the importance of family and worked hard to maintain family ties and record family history. She tirelessly worked to put together scrapbooks containing family history for each of her children and grandchildren. Being a grandmother brought great joy to Margaret and she was lovingly known by her grandchildren as “Mimi”. Her greatest joy came from being able to attend many of the special events in their lives. She was especially happy to be able to have all of her family here with her this past Christmas.
Margaret was an excellent seamstress; sewing formal dresses for her daughters and many costumes for high school dance teams. She provided childcare to many children while raising her own family. After her children were grown, she worked for a few years as a secretary. She worked at Silver Creek Pharmacy and Gift Shop in Overgaard, Arizona for several years until moving to Utah last May.
Margaret was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. She especially loved serving in the Primary and Young Women organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her husband Bill, daughters: Margo (Jim) Christensen of Millville, Utah; Holli (David) Kirkman of Logan, Utah; and Jayne (Bill) Olney of Gilbert, Arizona; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
