Margaret Jane Izatt James

January 8, 1925 — February 26, 2017

Margaret Jane Izatt James, died on Sunday, February 26, 2017 due to causes incident to age at the Sunshine Terrace Assisted Living in Logan, Utah.
She was born January 8, 1925, the youngest child of George James and Charlotte Stephens Izatt. She graduated from Logan High School and the Utah Agriculture College (now Utah State University). She met John Dale James when she was the Football coach’s secretary at the Utah Agriculture College. He was a player on the football team. They were married on November 15, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. They had four children. They shared their earthly life together until Dale died on January 1, 1997.
Margaret was a life-long faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the primary presidency, was the Ward Pianist/Organist for 45+ years and as a faithful visiting teacher for most of her life. She also served in the Logan Temple for over 20 years. She especially enjoyed playing the organ there.
After their four children were all old enough to be in school she worked at the Logan Junior High/Mt. Logan Middle School as a secretary for many years. In addition to playing the piano and organ, she loved to sing. She was a member of the Bel Canto Women’s Chorus singing alto and serving as the music librarian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and all her siblings – A. George Izatt, Faye Johnson, Alice Bastian, D. Evan Izatt, Ed A. Izatt and Myrtle Gardner. She is survived by her children, Alan (Linda White), Tremonton, Utah; Marianne (Richard) Stockdale, Logan, Utah; Susan (Richard) Ray, Mesa, AZ; and Thomas (Tracy Pearson), Logan, Utah. Margaret is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North in North Logan. A viewing will be held on Friday evening, March 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. the day of services. Interment in the Logan City Cemetery.
