Margaret Elizabeth Stevens Hayward
LOGAN, UTAH: Margaret Stevens Hayward died peacefully
in her sleep on December16 at her home at Williamsburg
Retirement Center in Logan at the age of 97.
She was born August 10, 1909, in Logan, Utah to Sydney
O. Stevens and Tyro Yeates Stevens.
She resided in Logan until age eight, at which time
the family moved to Ogden where she attended Ogden
City Schools. She attended Utah State University.
She married Joseph Clare Hayward on May 28, 1930.
After the birth of their two children, Carol Ann and
Joseph Steven, they spent many years in the pursuit of
her husband's studies in medicine. They settled in
Logan where he practiced at the Budge Clinic for forty
two years.
In her earlier years, Margaret was a member of Fine
Arts Club, A.C. Women's Club, and the Logan Golf and
Country Club. She was a member of the L.D.S Church.
She and Clare enjoyed traveling and visited many
foreign countries. One of the highlights was their
first trip to England where they visited the
birthplaces of her grandparents. Margaret loved
beautiful things. She loved entertaining friends and
family in their lovely home.
After her husband passed away in 1996, Margaret moved
to the Williamsburg Retirement Center in Logan where
she spent ten happy years with loving friends. The
family gives special thanks to the wonderful staff at
Williamsburg, and especially to Margaret's angel.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Peggy Hayward,
a son-in-law, Arthur (Jean) Bellingham, nieces and
nephews, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren
and seven great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband,
Clare, her two beloved children, Steve and Carol, her
sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Clyde Buehler,
and her two brothers.
According to her wishes there will be no funeral
services. Burial will be in Logan City Cemetery with a
simple short service on Wednesday, December 20th at
12:00 pm. She wishes to thank all those who have been
