Logan, Utah – Margaret J. Hansen, 89, passed away quietly in Logan, February 19,2006 of natural causes associated with age. Margaret was born May 6, 1916 the oldest child and only daughter of Harris L. Jenson and Susannah Leatham Jenson. Her parents and brothers Lyle and Richard preceded her in death.
Margaret received her early education in Jerome, Idaho and later attended South Cache and Logan High Schools and Utah State University. She spent her career as a secretary working at South Cache and Sky View High Schools, Utah State University, Hyrum City, and the Cache County Sheriff”s Office. Margaret retired several years ago and enjoyed traveling, quilting, and reading. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many church auxiliaries. She was an ordinance worker at the Logan LDS Temple. She was also involved in the Seagull Camp of the Daughter's of the Utah Pioneers and served as the Vice Captain of that organization.
Margaret married John Edward Murphy on February 19, 1936 in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. He passed away September 19, 1940. She married Edwin Christoffersen April 6, 1941. He passed away April 27, 1979. She later married Ellis Hansen. They shared 25 happy years together, enjoying each other, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her husband Ellis, Logan, and their children:
William E. and Elaine Christoffersen, John E. and Connie Murphy, Jay and Barbara Cheney, Linda Hodges, Sparky and Jeanine Gierke, Gordon and Jenell Hansen, Joan Hansen, Glendon and Pat Hansen, Clark and Gail Hansen, Steven Hansen, and their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 24 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel (34 East Center St, Logan). Friends may visit on Thursday, February 23, from 6-8 PM at the mortuary and one hour prior to services on Friday. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
