Smithfield, Utah: Mary Chavez Garza, 71, died on September 25, 2009 at the Logan Regional Hospital with her children beside her. She was born November 29, 1937 in Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico the daughter of Alberto and Teodora Guadarrama Chavez.
She married Frank Garza. He passed away on November 2, 1997.
She was a loving mother and housewife, raising nine children. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She was very loving and caring to everyone around her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her six daughters and three sons; Velia (Juan) Ornelas, Mary Ann (Scott) McDonald, Gloria (Antonio - deceased) Vazquez, Susan (Agustin) Silva, JoAnn (Francisco) Garza, Bill Garza (deceased) Scott (Donna) Garza, Lloyd Garza, Stella (Eddie) Garza; 38 grandchildren and 70 great grandchildren. One sister and three brothers, Maria Elena Holguin, Juan Chavez, Jesus Chavez, Guadalupe Chavez.
The family would like to thank Dr. Avery’s office and the dialysis office for all of their care and concern in behalf of Mary and her family.
A viewing will be held on Monday evening, September 28, 2009 from 6-8 p.m at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Allen Mortuary Chapel of North Logan. Burial will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
