Marie Lois Thompson Foltz, 89, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Ogden Regional Medical Center.
Marie was born on August 12, 1923 in Los Angeles, California to Walter Lloyd and Daisy Louise Myers Thompson.
Marie married Kenneth Clyde Foltz on March 9, 1940 when she was 16 years of age. They were sealed together as an eternal family in the Oakland California Temple. Together they raised 3 sons during their 56 years of marriage.
Mom was an accomplished cook, well known for her incredible baked goods,, especially her pies. She was a loving senior volunteer for the Logan Regional Hospital for over 16 years.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed traveling the country with her husband, and in later years, friends and her older sister and best friend, Violet.
Mom lived a life of selfless service to all she came in contact with. She never spoke ill of anyone. She always found good in everyone. She never complained and she never stopped going. She was the essence of an angel in her compassion and in her love. She exemplified her Savior’s example in every breathing moment.
She is survived by her sons, Richard (Lorraine) Foltz of Queen Creek, AZ and Timothy (Glee) Foltz of Ogden, UT. She is also survived by her best friend and sister, Violet Ziak of Covina, CA, as well as 16 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren and countless “adopted” grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Clyde Foltz, Jr., her parents, her eternal companion and one granddaughter.
She will be forever remembered and eternally loved.
Funeral services will held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 11 in the Logan 14th Ward Chapel, 600 South 100 West in Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
