MARIE STIMPSON TOONE (87) passed away February 3, 2025, at Legacy House in Logan, UT.

Marie was born July 16, 1937, in Ogden, UT along with her twin sister, Marilyn, to Howard and Evelyn Jones Stimpson.

Marie grew up in Tremonton and attended McKinley Elementary and Bear River High School. After her freshman year, her family moved to Riverdale Utah, then to Kanesville in 1953. She thought for sure her world was ending when she had to leave Tremonton, but then she met Bill (Wilford) Toone, and her mind quickly changed. Marie graduated from Weber High School in 1955.

Bill and Marie were married May 27, 1955, in Kanesville, UT. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1956.

Marie worked as a Secretary at Roy Jr High School for 23 years.

Bill and Marie lived in Kanesville for 18 years. They then moved to Burley for a short time and moved back to Roy until 1995. Bill and Marie then moved to Cedar City where Bill worked for 8 years. In 2003 Marie and Bill moved to back to northern Utah to be closer to their family.

Marie loved her family, and she loved to serve.

Marie enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She was an excellent artist and enjoyed toll painting, oil and acrylics. She donated many items to Hospital Gift Shops to be sold.

Marie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings, including Primary and Relief Society Presidencies. She loved the Gospel and shared her testimony often.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Evelyn Stimpson, Her brother, Dennis Stimpson, sister Ann Stimpson Allen, her Son Blake Toone, and 2 Daughter in Laws Jan and Julie.

Marie is survived by her twin sister Marilyn (Harold) Stone, her Husband Bill, her sons, Craig (Marilyn), Scott (Vicki), Chris (Carol), Kevin (Gwenda), and Daughter in Law Donna (Blake). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Special Thanks to Mission Home Health and Hospice (Natalie, Heidi, Amy and Marissa) and the amazing nursing staff at Legacy House in Logan for their great care and compassion.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February, 2025 at the Hyrum 10th Ward 125 N. 400 W. Hyrum. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:30-10:30 am. An additional viewing will be held Thursday evening February 6 from 6-8 pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 E. Center St. Logan.
