Marijane Lindley Goonan

August 14, 1950 — April 10, 2011

Marijane Lindley Goonan, born on Aug. 14, 1950, to Ray and Sarah (Bankhead) Lindley, passed peacefully at home after a long 23-year struggle with Hodgkins Lymphoma, Hepatitis C and Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was preceded in death by her father, Ray, her grandson, Isaac, and her son, Jordan. She married Thomas M. Goonan in 1987 by her mother, Sarah, the Wellsville justice of peace. Our marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1989.
Marijane graduated from Sky View High School in 1968, attended USU and received a Bachelor of Science in health education and physical fitness. She taught at Logan High School for seven years where she formed the HI-LO competition group. She left teaching and started her family. She raised five sons, Jared (Codi), Brent (Kimberly), David (Katie) Welsh, Michael (Nichelle) Goonan and Jordan Goonan. She has seven grandchildren, Mara, Branden, Kaitlin, Hailey, Isaac (deceased) and Emmy and Aiden who she loved beyond measure. Marijane taught dance for 33 years and operated her business both from her house and in a commercial setting.
She was a caring, giving woman and understood hard work, perseverance and lived a Christ-centered life. Through our faith we will be reunited again.
There will be a viewing Wednesday at the Allen-Cranney Mortuary at 420 E. 1800 North, North Logan from 6 to 8 p.m. and the funeral will be at the North Logan Third Ward building Thursday at noon.
