Marion Giblin Shelton

Marion Amada Giblin Shelton passed away at the age of 99 on December 8, 2023 in Providence, Utah. Marion was born in Santa Cruz, California to William Walter Giblin and Stella Bell Cooper Giblin. She was the eighth of ten children. 

During the Depression, her family moved frequently from orchard to orchard picking fruit. At the age of 17 she met and married her sweetheart, Donald Robert Shelton, in Santa Cruz, California. They raised two sons, Danny Robert Shelton and Craig Dale Shelton. 

Marion and Donald were married for 71 years and their sweet marriage and devotion to one another has been an example to many. They made their home a warm and welcoming place for all to come and feel accepted. Marion was kind and generous to those who needed help. She attended to her elderly neighbors daily and made sure they were fed. For nine years, she ran a daycare out of her home and took care of a total of 60 children. She volunteered her time at the hospital and schools. She was an avid baker. Marion loved her family with all her heart.

Marion is survived by her son, Danny(Marianne), daughter-in-law, Peg, 8 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and 9 siblings, her husband, Donald, and her son, Craig.
