CLARKSTON-Marlene Butler Godfrey, 74, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her eternal companion on August 22, 2013.
She was born August 24, 1938 in Trenton, Utah to Edgar Norvell and Florence Merrill Butler. She graduated from North Cache High School in 1956. She married Ramon Allen Godfrey on March 18, 1957 in the Logan LDS Temple. She worked at Lewiston Elementary as a Teacher’s Aide for 22 years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, fabric painting, playing the piano and car rides around “the loop”. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her three children: Reed (Shannah) Godfrey, Independence, MO; Duane (Vicki) Godfrey, Tremonton; Jolene (Courtney) Ricks, Clarkston; 28 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and one sister: Marlowe (Daisy) Butler, Kaysville; Wade Butler, Bluffdale; Stan Butler, Kearns; LaWana Butler Hill, Rigby, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 26, at 12:00 p.m., at the Clarkston LDS Church. Viewing times are Sunday, Aug. 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Allen Mortuary (34 East Center Street – Logan, UT) and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services at the Clarkston LDS Church.
