Mary Lou Craner

July 22, 1946 — January 10, 2025

Mary Louise Cullinan Craner passed away on January 10th, 2025 at the age of 78 in Logan, Utah.

Born July 22nd, 1946 in Denver Colorado, she enjoyed a wonderful childhood full of humor, mischief, and love. After graduating from high school at St. Mary’s Academy in Englewood, Colorado, in 1964, Mary Lou entered the convent to become a Sister of Saint Joseph of Carondelet in Missouri. During the seven and a half years she spent in the sisterhood, she studied art at Fontbonne College and taught art.

Shortly after leaving the convent, Mary Lou converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From her childhood and throughout her adult life, she lived a life dedicated to God. Her love of the Savior, His Eternal Plan, and infinite Atonement was exemplified in all that she did. She loved art and music, community, exercise, and healthy living. Mary Lou loved to attend church and the temple, and study her scriptures. She took on her father’s sense of humor, and always enjoyed a good pun. She shared her smile, warmth, love, and charity with all those who knew and loved her. And last but not least, she was a devoted and beloved mother of six children.

Mary Lou is survived by her six children: Jeremy (Susan), Michael, Andrew (Rebecca), Heather (David), Rosanne, and Kevin; and seventeen grandchildren; as well as her three siblings: older brother John, and younger sisters Connie and Trish. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Whiting Cullinan and Louise Marie McCloskey Cullinan.

Funeral services for Mary Lou will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the LDS church at 940 W Three Point Avenue in Logan, Utah.
