Mary Lou Olsen Archibald

October 27, 1936 — May 11, 2016

WELLSVILLE, UTAH:  Mary Lou Olsen Archibald, 79, of Wellsville, died on May 11, 2016 in Logan, Utah from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Mary Lou was born on October 27, 1936 in College Ward, Utah a daughter of Lovenus Delno and Mary Godderidge Olsen.  She married Thayne Archibald on June 29, 1955 in the Logan LDS Temple.  He preceded her in death in 1997.

She was a homemaker, and had been employed at Hill Air Force Base, The Herald Journal and the US Postal Service.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully as a YW President, RS President, Primary President, and Sunday School and Primary teachers.  Mary Lou was a great cook with her specialties of rolls, cinnamon rolls, fudge, penuche, dipped chocolates at Christmas and apple pie.  She enjoyed quilting, planting flowers and gardening.  She designed her own home.

She is survived by her children: Tami and David Shipman, Kelly Archibald, Marcy Wilson, Scott and Amy Archibald, Lori and Scott Meeker; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a sister, Jessie Hubbard.  She is preceded in death by her husband and parents; a brother, William Lovenus Olsen; two sisters, Maxine Olsen and Pearl Fanny Rivers.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18th at 11:00 am in the Wellsville 8th Ward, 49 West 200 South, Wellsville.  There will be a viewing Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan and at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 - 10:30 am.  Interment will follow in the Wellsville Cemetery.  Condolences and memories may be made online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
