Mary Lou Porter, age 92, of North Logan, Utah was born May 11, 1925 in Ogden, Utah to Ross H. McCune and Cara Leona Engstrom McCune. She attended Weber college and worked at Hill Field during WWII. She then married Kalmar Hardy Porter, a Naval officer, of Ogden in 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She and Kal lived in the Bay Area of California postwar until 2009 when she returned to Utah. She has lived in North Logan with her daughter, Jana Bremer and her husband, Dan Bremer, and is survived by Jana and 4 other children:
Jeffrey M. Porter, Norman S. Porter, Kristine P. Nowicki and David E. Porter. She leaves 13 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Joanne Santinelli and many nieces and nephews.
In her lifetime she was a full-time mother, supported her husband's education, their private architectural firm, and also worked 20 years as an office manager at an accounting firm in California. She was a life-long member of the LDS Church and member of North Logan First Ward. Her joys in life included travel, gardening, friends and her family. She had a love for discovering new people, places, hobbies and learning experiences.
A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:30 AM on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan. Burial will follow the viewing at the Ogden City Cemetery with a brief family graveside service.
