Gay was born August 2,1935 in Garland, Utah to William Cecil and Vila Elena Wakley. She was reared
and educated in Garland and graduated from Bear River High School.
Gay married Glade Andersen on July 22, 1953. They made their homes in Ogden and then settled in Hyrum where Gay has resided for over 40 years. They were blessed with and raised four beautiful, loving children before they later divorced. Mom also had a special closeness with her sister Pat and her brother-in-law Lloyd. Mom loved and cared for her family and was always helping everyone. She will be deeply missed. She worked as a school cook at Lincoln Elementary and was head cook at Mountain Crest High School. She loved sharing her talents of sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She has many friends in Hyrum which she cherished and appreciated all the kindness and consideration given by them.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a testimony and love of Christ. Mom was endowed and sealed to her parents in the Logan Temple on September 15, 2007. She felt blessed, honored, and humble to be able to do this.
